Mail My Ink, is committed to sustainable practices. We have one world and need to preserve it. That said, this is primarily a subscription service, which has intrinsic environmental cost through shipping. We are continually seeking new opportunities to reduce our carbon impact. Here’s what we are doing right now:
Vial Exchange Program
We are using glass vials for our sample products, instead of plastic. Although glass is heavier, it is reusable.
How does it work?
We ship you vials every month with your ink samples in them, and when you are finished (either you used the whole sample or you didn’t like it) you ship the vials back to us. We clean them up and sanitize them, then reuse them. We provide you the return shipping labels, simply fit the old vials into the packaging from your newest subscription, affix the label and stick it in the mail.
You are welcome to keep the vials as long as you need, however we ask you keep the return package under 1 pound, to reduce our shipping cost. We need you to participate in the vial exchange to keep the vials circulating; if the vials don’t return to us, we have to replace them.
What if my vials break?
In the unlikely event that your vials break or shatter, especially in shipping, please let us know right away. We absolutely need to know if there are any defective batches. Broken glass is dangerous, and we take safety very seriously.
What is the cost, again?
Free! We cover your return shipping costs.
Cartridge Refill Program
We accept donations of used or unwanted plastic cartridges. We clean and refill these to keep them out of the landfills. Because of this program, we can offer our samples in cartridges as well as vials.
