I’ve added some new pens to the store. These are some pens from Jacques Herbin, and each one is exciting for a different reason!

Refillable Rollerball, aka “Inkball”

This rollerball pen refills with an international standard (short) cartridge/converter. Your liquid ink will make this an even more pleasant writing experience than your typical rollerball.

Refillable Marker

This is a refillable marker! It refills via pipette only – there is no cartridge or converter involved. The pen’s entire body is a reservoir for ink, so it will write for quite a while. I have these in 3mm and 5mm widths, but they also come in 8mm and 10mm tips – just email me if you want me to snag one of these larger sizes for you.

The tips wash out with water. Now, ink that stains will also stain your tip. The marker comes with beads inside to help agitate inks with particulate – I haven’t yet used any of them with particulate ink to see how well it translates through the fibrous tip.

Historic Implements

These quill pens are made from dyed goose feather. They have a metal collar around the feather’s vein that is tipped with a metal nib. This nib has a slight angle on it, like a fude nib.

A recreation of an Egyptian calame, a reed pen, first used to write on clay tablets and later on papyrus. There is a writing tip of a different width on each end. I can’t wait to try this out and see what it can do.

I have a limited stock on these items, since they’re a trial to see how I like them. Everything except the historic implements can be reordered. The historic implements are no longer available from the manufacturer as just the pen, but only in a gift set (which is a higher price).

I’m glad to be able to share them with you!
